Good to know

The Benchlands are the slopes and ridges below the Niagara Escarpment, west of St. Catharines. Most wineries sit on or near the escarpment through Beamsville, Vineland and Jordan, often with views over Lake Ontario. Jordan Village has shops and places to eat between tastings.

The Benchlands are the closest part of Niagara wine country to Toronto and Hamilton, and a little quieter than Niagara-on-the-Lake. Many wineries are small and family-run, and the area's wineries run shared events through the year, such as Get Wrapped Up in November.
